ANNUAL PICNIC DAY
Invitation to the End of Year Picnic ?
As a way of thanking everyone who contributed to the Food Fair we would like to invite you to an end-of-year picnic. Once again we'll be having our picnic in the Cumberland state forest - the same spot as last year. The Cumberland state forest is a beautiful location for our picnic, offering well marked walking tracks, an educational display, a nursery where you can purchase native plants and a café for those who can't do without an espresso!

Place: Bellamy Picnic Area, ?Cumberland State Forest ?5 Castle Hill Rd, West Pennant Hills ? ?The Association will be providing satays , a sausage sizzle on the BBQ, some salads and fried noodles. AGM will be incorporated into Dana Day activities and will be held before lunch.
DANA DAY at SANGHA LODGE
Dana day is held on the first Sunday of each month beginning at 10.30 am with a chanting and a brief teaching by Ven Tejadhammo. This is then followed by an offering of lunch to the Sangha (or monks). Lunch is then enjoyed by all those present. To end the morning, Ven Tejadhammo will give a blessing.
Invitation is open to all. As this is a community activity, those coming are encouraged to bring a plate - to offer to the Sangha and then to be shared with all.

FOOD FAIR 2011
Food Fair for this year will on Sunday 24 July beginning at 10 am till 3 pm. The venue is as previous years, at Roselea Community Centre, 645-671 Pennant Hills Road, Carlingford. Come and support our major fund raising event for the year with plenty of home cooking in such delicious food as Penang Fried kuih teow, curry laksa, curry puffs, rojak, ice kachang, etc etc. There will also be a bric and brac stall - so dig in and you might find a treasure.
When: 24 July Sunday. 10 am - 3 pm

ARTWORK AUCTION
A beautiful traditional ink landscape painting has been donated to Sangha Lodge and will be auctioned at the Food Fair on July 24.
The painting entitled "Yellow Mountain in Mist" measures 1.5m by 90cm and is stylishly framed ready for hanging.
Email bids for this work of art will be accepted up to the evening of July 23 and should be sent to office@engagedbuddhists.org.au Molly will email periodic updates to advise of the highest bid in hand so that those interested can register a higher bid.
Final bidding for the auction will take place at 2:00 during the Food Fair. To enable those leaving before the close of the day to participate. bidding slips will be available. The highest offer amongst the email offers and bidding slips will become the starting price for the auction proper.
Given the quality of the painting a reserve price has been set at $500.
